Inner Peace Yoga workshops and retreats
Inner Peace Yoga has some exciting workshops, retreats, classes and sessions planned for the 2014/2015 holiday season. Back-bending, AcroYoga, chakra exploration, a 40-day sadhana, CAT, a retreat in Jamaica and more are being offered. Read on for more information about each offering and how to register.


Last AcroYoga FUNdamentals class of 2014
December 12, 2014
Get fit, have fun and explore upside down in an AcroYoga Fundamentals class offered by Inner Peace Yoga. Anyone can play, no partner is needed. The last class of 2014 is December 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. If you can’t make it this year, classes will resume January 16, 2015. Students will explore basic poses in a safe environment. No need to register. Just drop in and use your membership or class passes.

Regular Kirtan Gatherings with Anastasia Gheyssen
Next kirtan: December 12, 2014
Everyone is welcome to join Anastasia Gheyssen in the heart-opening practice of kirtan every second Friday of every month at Inner Peace Yoga. Kirtan is call-and-response chanting. It can be a quiet and meditative practice or you can allow the uplifting melodies to carry you away. Clap, drum, sing or dance as the spirit moves you. $5 minimum suggested donation. The next kirtan at Inner Peace Yoga is December 12 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Exploring the chakras: A beginners’ guide
December 14, 2014
In this two-hour workshops, Leslie Sikler will explain each chakra, giving participants insight into these energy centres. She will also teach yin poses that are designed to help open the seven main chakras. Join Leslie Sunday, December 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.

40 days 1

40-day Sadhana
Begins January 10, 2015
Organize your life with this 40-day sadhana, beginning January 10, 2015. Facilitators Joelle McDonald and Jen Millard will help participants tackle the challenges of creating a cleaner and happier home, leading to a more satisfying life. The group will meet every Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. to practice a specially designed yoga class that will include asanas, pranayama and meditation. There will also be time to discuss the intention for the week, and share challenges and successes. Participants will receive instruction on developing their own personal pracice at home and a study book. They will also have free unlimited access to the Inner Peace yoga studio during the 40 days to attend any classes that work into their schedule.


Discover the benefits of back bends this winter
Next workshop: January 30, 2015
Fight off the winter blues and extra holiday pounds with Joelle McDonald and Inner Peace Yoga in a monthly back-bending workshop. Learn the fundamentals of back bending, work on smaller bends and build up to more advanced bends. The benefits of back bends are numerous: stimulate the central nervous system, boost immune system, realign and increase mobility in the spinal column, open the hips, strengthen and stretch the legs, increase blood flow, massage the vital organs and glands, loosen the joints, boost energy levels and relieve tension store in the muscles. The next back-bending workshop is January 30th form 7 to 9 p.m. Joelle will be teaching back-bending workshops every month to help keep you feeling energized. These workshops are open to all levels.

Level 1 Critical Alignment Therapy session
Begins January 15, 2015
Do you suffer with back, neck or shoulder pain or tension? This five-week Critical Alignment Therapy (CAT) session will help you gain the knowledge you need to let go of that pain and tension and bring alignment back to your body. This session will be held in a small group so students get personalized attention. This session is ideal for Yoga 4 Backs students, those who suffer from chronic pain and those who want to improve their posture. This session is limited to 16 students. Begins January 15th.
